Fun Times at Photoshop World

Fun Times at Photoshop World

So Photoshop World 2010 in Orlando was a blast. It was great meeting all of our customers and supporters and talk to you about how you’re using our software. It’s one thing to exchange emails, but it is a really rewarding experience when you come up to our booth so we can chat in person about how our software makes your photography life easier. I’m not sure who it was exactly, but I think someone even brought up some large prints processed using Topaz software that were absolutely fantastic. If you visited our booth, thanks so much and it was a pleasure talking to you!

As usual, our presenter Greg Rostami did an excellent job with a series of exciting software demos. Although you can’t see the screen behind him, his enthusiasm really shines through in this clip Ashley took of his demo near the end of the show:

I (Eric) managed to find the time to slip away from the booth for a little bit to attend some classes. Imagine my happy surprise when, during his Down and Dirty Tricks class, Scott Kelby gave a hefty mention of our Topaz Adjust plug-in! I talked to him for a little bit after the class. He seems like a really energetic and down-to-earth guy, and we’re honored that he likes our software.

Photographer and prolific author Rick Sammon stopped by our booth to say hi. (He’s written over thirty books on photography… when does he find time to sleep?) Although we’ve done plenty of stuff with Rick in the past, I’ve never met him in person before until Photoshop World. He’s a great guy – very energetic and extremely passionate in what he does. We did a nice podcast interview and afterwards I watched his excellent HDR class, in which I was again happy to see his prominent recommendation of Topaz Adjust. Thanks Rick! By the way, if you want some great photo tips, check out his new website and his cool iPhone app called “Rick Sammon’s 24/7 Photo Buffet”, or buy any of his four thousand books on Amazon.

I also briefly met some of the folks over at OnOne and Nik. Although technically they’re competitors or whatever, they’re certainly nice people who make good software and it was a pleasure to talk to them face to face.

We will be exhibiting again at the next Photoshop World in September in Las Vegas. If you’re in the area, I hope to meet you there!
