New Adjust, Detail, ReMask patch

Posted on 15. Mar, 2010 by in Topaz News

In our newer updates to Topaz Adjust, Topaz Detail, and Topaz ReMask, we’ve used an plug-in user interface that was rebuilt from the ground up. Hopefully this interface is both easier to use and easier on the eyes than the old one. However there were some kinks that we had to work out:

Some users have experienced a drastic difference between the colors of the previewed image and the result when using the newer versions of Topaz Adjust and Detail. Other users have experienced crashes when using the new Adjust, Detail, or ReMask. We’ve been hard at work solving these issues, and today the patch is ready for download. This should solve both the color management problem and the crashes.

To apply the patch, re-download and re-install the appropriate software at the following link. (Windows users will have to first uninstall their old software using Add/Remove Programs and then install the new version.)

Topaz Downloads

This only affects Topaz Adjust 4, Topaz Detail 2, and Topaz ReMask.

If you still have issues, feel free to post a comment or contact us from our support page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and as always thanks for your support!

So if it only applies to Adjust 4, do I have to uninstall and reinstall Adjust 5 since Adjust 4 is running within and one of the presets in Adjust 5?

Brilliant thanks! Just uninstalled it and tried it out and everything seems to be working perfectly. Going to play out with my new effects now :D

I installed the adjust update, but did not unistall old v. 4.0 first. It went in ok and the info screen shows v. 4.1. Do ya suppose that I’m missing something that would have come if I had uninstalled v. 4.0 first?

I use adjust on OS 10.6.2 in iPhoto. I downloaded ver. 4, but when I run it the filter crashes with the error message that Fusion Express failed. I downloaded the latest Fusion for the Mac and got a whole trial bundle and the Fusion keeps crashing.

Is there anything I should be doing or should I just stay with ver 3?

    Eric,

I get the regular Windows error “tlremask must shut down..blala..” and then from PS the Cannot proceed, Error the plug-in has crashed. I can’t find any Topaz log files. Where would they be if any?

@John, you can download v4.0.0 here:
    mac: http://www.mediafire.com/?zemjmmmt3jh
    win: http://www.mediafire.com/?d4lnm0zzknw

@Dan, unfortunately the discount expired in the system and we can’t extend it… sorry! The fix timing wasn’t correlated with the coupon code expiring, in any case.

@Susie, you have to type in the dashes or it won’t let you proceed. Also, make sure you have all numbers, not a key with any letters in it. If you have letters in your key, try getting your new key here: http://www.topazlabs.com/adjust3key.php

If you downloaded it on 18 March, you don’t need to re-download it again. You have the latest version.

@Lemont – That’s what we were trying to fix in the new patch. Did you download it and install after March 15? Try re-downloading and re-installing the software, making sure that you’re using the new installer and not a cached download file.

@Dennis. Thank you for your confidence! Sorry about the crashes. We’re working very hard on trying to make this better.

@Carsten: Try just re-downloading it to a new location under a different name. It’s possible your connection got interrupted. But don’t just re-download it to the same location because then it’ll used the cached incomplete file.

@Karen and Rodney: If you have no problems with it, feel free to not worry about it. Not everyone had the color management and stability problem. No need to fix something if it isn’t broken.

Thanks guys. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Dear Team,
I use adjust in Photoshop. Initially I had a snag when Photo- shop would not see Adjust 4, but I followed the instructions for direct insertion and all was, and continues to be well. I have used Adjust hard for weeks and had nothing to concern me. Do I need to install the patched version?
    Regards,
    Rod Brown.

Well, I have ReMask, but I have not used it. I do not think I see problems with my other software since the last update. I will look at the color problem to see.
Right now I will not apply this patch (Windows 7, 32 bit) … afraid something will not work after uninstalling and installing. lol

    Eric,
Thanks for having this feedback blog. I get a FEW crashes, but I think I will wait before the bugs get worked out. You have always been quick to respond and I’m sure that all will be working fine soon.
I’ve been using your software for about 3 years, and love it.
    Thanks.

I have been waiting for the color problems to be fixed in Adjust before buying it (with the problems, it was unusable on my wide-gamut monitor). The patch came out the day that the 20% off offer expired. Can you extend the discount, because the software wasn’t functional during the discount period?

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Eric,

Send you a Email, but see that on more places problems regading the newest patch come in.

I want the 4.0.0. back since it worked fine.
Can we upload the old 4.0.0. somewhere since I have not saved it.

    Hope to hear from you.

Eric, i have applied the new file “tliadjust40.dll” as decribed above. The same procedure, there are this messages.

OMP: Warning #2: Cannot open message catalog “1031\libiomp5ui.dll”:
OMP: System error #126: Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden.
OMP: Info #3: Default messages will be used.

My environment: Windows 7 64 bit, Photoshop Elements 6 (32 bit).

Okay, first of all, fixed the captcha floating over the message. You guys should have no more problems with that.

@John – what problem are you having with the software?

@Speedy – Is there any sort of error message after it crashes? Also are you on Mac or Windows?

@Carsten – sorry about that. You can just use the older version if it works better, that’s fine. But in case you want to use the new one, to solve the IPC warning just uninstall the software completely from the Control Panel. You may need to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

@Sandra – the captcha should be fixed now.

@Jill – Try installing the patch to fix the color profile stuff. Remember to uninstall first if you’re using Windows.

    @Rick – See links below.

@Bikelocka – Sorry about that! Could you send the error log to support[at]topazlabs.com? We’ll try to see what’s wrong.

To everyone: Here are some links in the forum that should help with the IPC and OMP stuff:

I am also using Win7 64-bit with CS3, the new updated Remask crashes on the command ‘compute’. Fortunate that the old version still runs Ok. I have reinstalled that and look forward to the next working update.

I just bought the software last week…does it already include this patch or do I need to download this patch? I have noticed that the colors in the adjust screen are much more vibrant than when I save and go back into PS CS3.

    More:
It doesn´t matter, if I use either the 32-bit application or the 64-bit apps.
The plug-ins either terminates or don´t function properly.

In the new Adjust4, I to get the “IPC Memory Verify Fail” – message.

In both Detail2 & ReMask2, I get the “OMP: Warning #2: Cannot open message catalog “1053\libiomp5ui.dll”
OMP: System error #126: The specified module could not be found.
OMP: Info #3: Default message will be used” – message.

    I am also using Win7 64-bit
Luckily I still have the former version of the plug-ins, and they still works!
So what have I leaned: Never change things, that works.
    What a mess.

OMP: Warning #2: Cannot open message catalog “1053\libiomp5ui.dll”
OMP: System error #126: The specified module could not be found.
OMP: Info #3: Default message will be used.

Sorry @Irene, I forgot to answer the last question. For a trial extension just email us at keys[at]topazlabs.com . But you shouldn’t need it, because the full license keys and download links should have come to you through email immediately after you purchased the software.

    Thanks!

Sorry about the captcha woes, everyone! I’ve tried testing it and it seems okay on this side. Let me know if it continues to give problems and I’ll switch widgets. (this one helps transcribe books though =) )

@Kathy: That should do it. Just let me know if anything strange pops up, but I think you’re good to go now.

@Caro: You’re all set. The keys stayed the same so if you entered them before you don’t have to again.

@John: You should be all up to date, so no action needed.

@Ed: Thanks for your confidence. I’m glad one way or another you got the crashes worked out!

Irene: You actually got a better price. The sale price for $120 is actually the upgrade to the full bundle if you already have Topaz Adjust. The normal bundle price is still $179.99. =)

    Thanks everone!

I just purchased the bundle for around $152 last week and noticed you have a sale on for $120. do you honor your sale prices under these circumstances?
Also, my free trial ran out and I was wondering if you could extend it until I get the disks. I really like them.

Third try, the captcha gadget was not working right.

Thanks Eric and the others at Topaz Labs for this update.
I experienced these problems. They started immediately when I installed Adjust 4, then spread to Detail which has the same interface. Without warning, Adjust and Detail would erratically crash during use inside PSPX2. I am using 64 bit Vista which even after several Microsoft major upldates is erratic… it crashed on me today. My computere has a quad CPU and lots of memory; its not the machine… it is 64 bit Vista. I’d recommend it to no one.

With this problem with Adjust and Detail, after a major clean and repair of the registry, both Adjust and Detail stopped crashing nearly so often. Then there was another updating of 64 bit Vista by MS and after another major maintenance with Norton, the crashes of both Adjust and Detail have stopped completely. I would caution other useres to look to thier OS updates, and be sure that the registry is maintained. I’m hesitant about installing the patch– if it ain’t broke etc.

Thanks again to Eric and the Topaz bunch for taking such good care of us customers. Your service to users is excellent.

I hate these captch words!! I’ve written a reply twice now and because the words weren’t right – I had to start all over again!

I love these filters and didn’t want to lose them. What I finally did was to go into the unzipped file – copy the plug-in and then go to the Elements plug-in folder and paste them.

They SEEM to be working now.

Ok – I uninstalled and re-installed Adjust 4, Detail 2 & Remask2. Now in Photoshop Elements I no longer have Adjust 4 – but it says Adjust 3 – Detail 2 will not work at all – it says: “IPC Memory Verify Fail”. Now what shall I do??
