Default How do you get tires looking good on the ground? 2nd attempt at it.

    First attempt.

    2nd attempt.
Harry took your advice and made the shadow dark and right under the tires. Better?

Huge improvement. It does look like the tires are on the ground now instead of in the air.

Looks terrific! I didn't know the trick with separating a drop shadow until this thread got rolling. Its always cool to learn new stuff. There are some great ideas out there!

    Thanks.
Yea, that trick is very handy. And so is Harry. Once that shadow is on its own layer anything goes, I was able to erase it from the sky and on alot of the rock in the back I droped the Opac. and took out all the sharp lines. I tried out the sponge tool to run around the edge of the rider/me, and it seem to have blended it in a lot better then just droping in on like the first one.
