    Default Remask 2

Sometime ago someone said they were working on a better hair extractor tool for Remask 2. Have they got it yet?

    Hi 2string,

Thanks for your interest in the new ReMask. The new hair tool will be available in the new ReMask 3 which will be available later this year. Possibly sometime during the summer. If you would like to receive notification when it becomes available, please sign up online at: Topaz Labs Mailing List

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks again for your interest!

    Smile My Remask 2 technique

I found the KEEP (green) or CUT (red) overlay distracting and it was difficult for me to see different color changes and color detail in an image.
I sort of stumbled on to this method.
    1. Open your image in Remask 2.
    2. Select KEEP
    3. Click on the MENU and CHOOSE a background color. This will allow you to pick a color for the COMPUTE brush that's easy to see in your subject image.
You can then proceed to paint with the appropriate size COMPUTE brush. You can switch to MASK from time to time to evaluate how much you've done and spot missing areas that need more work.
And then switch back to KEEP view to continue.
Now that I have adopted this technique I don't think I could go back to using the default display.

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has tried my method or a similar one.

I am not a Topaz employee so please read my response accordingly. I've been using their products for maybe seven or eight months now and, during that time, they have never charged for an upgrade. I would expect that the upgrade will be either free or somewhat nominal.

By the way, I am perhaps the most eager for this new version, so much so that I was very nearly banned from the forum a while ago because of being somewhat annoying.

Thanks for the response. I hope someone from Topaz reads this and replies. I love this product but it could use an upgrade.

At this time there are no plans to charge for the ReMask upgrade. ReMask 3 will be a free upgrade to current ReMask 1 and 2 owners

I believe that she had previously indicated "middle of summer."
