Yes, you can download to a memory stick but without a computer, it won't do anything. You can probably configure your old and slow computer to access the files on the stick but it's a nuisance and, worse, the products will run slower than if loaded directly on the computer's hard drive!

Two points. First, NO software runs on memory sticks without a computer. ALL software relies on a CPU (the computer) to interpret its commands. If you'll forgive a rather poor analogy (aren't they all?), consider an eye transplant. The transplanted eye will do nothing without a brain to interpret the images.

Second, the Topaz products, even when on a computer, do nothing by themselves, even with the CPU. They are plug-ins (or add-ons) for other computer software, such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and others.

I hope that my explanation made sense. Post back if you need more info.

Speaking about slow, I used to be fast but now, in my old age, now I'm half-fast!

    Hi Ian,

If you are using a Windows machine you can actually download a free image editing program called Irfanview. The Topaz bundle programs (except for ReMask) are compatible with this program.

    Hope this helps!

Photoshop ELEMENTS has 90% of the power at 10% of the price. Go to the Adobe web site and get a free 30-day trial.
