Cool How to Submit Images to Gallery

Thanks for submitting images to our gallery! It's proved to be one of our most popular pages and we'd love to get your photos up there. We link to the gallery page on all of our product pages and from the toolbar on every page of our entire site. As of time of posting, there have been 536909 image views on gallery images - and it's only been two weeks since it first opened!

There's only one requirement, and that is that you must have used one of our products on your photos in one way or another.

Here's you how submit photos for the Gallery (First, you'll need to register for the forum):

Post a new thread in the Showoff Spot.
You can either include your photos as attachments or embed them in the post. If you post a download link or provide links to them from another gallery please make sure there is no right-click protection on them, at least temporarily.

(How to post images on the forum.)

Also please include a short (or long, if you want!) quote about Topaz software. If you want us to credit you in the gallery, please include the name to credit you, and photography site for us to link to as well. (This is optional.)

We update the gallery quite often, so we'd love to get yours in on the next update! Thanks again, and please post if you have any questions.

Thanks Eric for the information. I use SmugMug as a place to store my photos and to link from. Hopefully that will work here at Topaz Labs formus. ....Bob
Thanks be to God for our blessings.

Yep, Smugmug should work fine. We actually use Smugmug for our gallery page as well - they're very good.

Who else is finding the Topaz albums file size limits ridiculous? How can we show off Topaz at just 600 px and max 97k? To get a 600px image file that small I had to use a quality setting of 2! Lets get real and allow up to at least super VGA (1024*768) and 500kb so we can actually show what Topaz can do! Thanks

Right on Randy. There's some kinks that haven't been worked out yet, apparently I only set the administrator to be able to upload larger images. Very unfair, right? It's fixed now to max 1000px long side and 200k/photo.

    Default Right on Eric!

Whew! That was easy. I will now begin uploading some of my favorite "Topazed" images.
BTW, I owe my knowledge of Topaz to Rick Sammon at the Maui Photo Festival but apparently I enjoyed my 30 day trial so long the coupon code he gave us expired!
BTW 2, I won our local county fair photo salon "photo art" division with a Topazed image! (URL http://randyhi.smugmug.com/Philippin...89656268_GbpbV )
BTW 3, I am a happy user of LightRoom and a reluctant user of PS CS-4 so I am very excited about your announcement that Topaz plugins will soon run inside LightRoom! The sooner the better!

Cool! Just by the way, it will already work for Lightroom for Mac through Topaz Fusion - just not for Windows yet. But that is coming!

See here for embedding images on the forum. The image links should end with ".jpg" or something similar - usually you'll have to right click on the image and select View Image instead of just linking to the gallery.

    Default Thanks!

I should have known that - thanks!
BTW, I am still struggling with the size restrictions. The 1000 longest side is okay altho 1024 is just 24 pixels wider and it is a VGA standard (most of my online images are 1024*768) but the 195kb is really hard for the detail Topazed images are capable of -- many of mine produce 350-400kb files with LightRoom set at 75% quality. Since each member is only allowed 60 images the max hard drive allocation for a 500kb file size limit would be just 30 megs -- about the same as each of my RAW 5DII captures! Can you wrangle us more room on the corporate servers? Hope so!

Since many people have regular monitor sizes, I usually restrict my web file sizes to a max height of 500 px or a max width of 800 px so people can view them without having to scroll. It's kind of a pain to have to resize my images before uploading to the web, but that makes them more accessible and saves disk space as well.

Hi Sierra. I know what you mean. I remember when the typical monitor size grew from pre-VGA to VGA to Super-VGA to 1600*1200 with no end in sight so there has to be some limit. I decided on 1024*768 as that makes a nice screen-saver on most size monitors. Of course, there is nothing wrong with limiting your size to something less than the Topaz forum is currently supporting -- it is just that it is hard to show off the "Topaz Effect" in a small file size.
