Default Day lilies and Cone Flowers

When I have nothing new I start to dabble and play around and "practice" new things. Here is one of a few flower images I was working on.

I did not like the darker area near the bottom so I had to figure out a way ti hide it while keeping it for crop value.

    Comments? Opinions?

I absolutely LOVE the image and processing! The only thing I'm not sure about is frame. I think without frame it would give appearance of great DOF with focus on the middle flowers.

bonnie -w hat do you mean by "frame" the black outside? I added that one in the last minute thinking that it felt a little . . . edgey with out it.

OR the outside 3 inches in the painterly effect? So you only like the original middle? be honest!

My plan was to put this on larger gallery wrapped canvas so it would have an infinity pool effect. Sort of wraps around.

Very nice work .... but I find the center frame lines distracting.

I really, honestly like everything except for the frame lines in middle of picture as Bob mentioned also. I think they detract from the beauty of your image. The black outside looks nice. Sorry I wasn't clearer! I actually didn't notice the outside frame until you mentioned it. Probably because it's on black background on forum.

hmmmmmm - that middle frame is a dividing point between two very different techniques! hmmmmmm maybe a more subtle division line? hmmmmm Suggestions are very welcome. Perhaps a single bevel dividing line? (not so in your face?). The middle is Clean 2 and the outer is a painterly thing from some competing software.

I think what you have done is creative and beautiful. The eye aches though to see 'without' the lines I guess. I can appreciate the really cool framing effect on the other hand.
Makes it appear as a photo within a photo.

I love it. I guess you could say it is outside of the box.
