Thumbs up (SOLVED) Adjust 4 very slow

I already have Adjust 3 installed which is quite quick. It adjusts a 12Mp 16 bit image in 5s and takes about 3s to open in both Photoshop CS3 and CS4 (both installed).

I have now upgraded to Adjust 4 (leaving v3 installed) and it is running really slow. It takes 30s to start from click to working sliders and 18s to adjust the same image as above. This is straight from boot with no other programs running.

I am running XPpro SP3 32bit with 4Gb of RAM. Photoshop has 55% memory allocated and has its own dedicated Velociraptor scratch disk. Windows has a 4Gb page file on drives C,D and E. CS3 has a lot of plugins installed but CS4 has only Topaz and Nik ColorFXPro and Viveza installed. The processor is Pentium D 3.2GHz dual processor.

Any idea what is causing the problem? Adjust 4 is currently unusable for me.

Further experiment shows that the time to open and process is related to document size but it's not a linear relationship. Why it is so much slower than v3 is a mystery. I've been wanting to use it on stitched panoramas but I shudder to think how long they will take to open. Incidentally, looking at another thread, Remask 2 is working perfectly on my system.

Bump. Somebody must have a view even if it's 'there's no problem, please go away'.

For what it's worth, I haven't noticed the problem. I access Topaz from PSE on a Mac.

I haven't noticed any change in post processing with Adjust 4 and I work on both Mac and Windows with Photoshop CS3 & CS4 and Elements 6&8. However when you open Adjust 4 (and all future updated Topaz programs) the presets previews will automatically be pre-processed, that way during your editing if you highlight / select a preset the preview image will come right up and you don't have to wait for each individual preset preview to be processed. Also, it will take just a little bit longer to scale down and pre-process the preset previews for larger images - but not substantially longer. Hope this helps

Hey thanks Ashley. Unfortunately most of the start up time is before the window appears at all. The previews are quite quick after that. It's 12sec just until the 'You are using a Topaz Plugin' subscreen appears and the main screen appears at about 22sec.
If you could give me a clue as to some of the differences in operation between v3 and v4 I might be able to work out what is causing the problem at my end. At the moment I'm having to stick with v3 which is excellent.
Incidentally I see a similar delay with Detail v2 before the little subscreen arrives.
