    Default Creative Masking! [Ended]

To celebrate the release of ReMask 2, here's a fun contest for you! As you know masking in Photoshop is useful in a number of ways, including creative compositing, color corrections, bokeh, selective sharpening, and a lot of other things. So for this contest:

Submit an image that shows off the creative use of masking.

    Link to ReMask is here:
Topaz ReMask - Masking Made Easy

This image can be anything as long as it shows the use of masking. For example, a cool scene composition or a selectively desaturated flower scene. Post the image in this thread in order to submit.

There will be up to 3 (!) winners in this contest. Each winner will receive the following:

    1. A copy of Topaz ReMask, OR the single Topaz software of their choice valued under $100, OR a credit for a future software that we release valued under $100.
    2. Display on a new "Usages" section of the Topaz ReMask website. If you want, I will credit your full name and link to your gallery if you have one.

Here's something a bit different: each winner will also receive one Friend Credit for one of our software. This means that the winner will be able to specify one of their friends to receive a free Topaz Software as outlined in #1... but only if they also have submitted an entry to this contest!

This means that if you win, one of your friends who entered the contest will also win free software. But if your friend wins and you don't, there's a good chance they will repay you telling them about it by (we hope) giving the Friend Credit to you! Everyone's happy.

(Sorry, you can't just use the friend credit on yourself! And please don't create multiple accounts for this kind of thing, it's not cool and we can tell :haha

If this Friend Credit concept works out I'll do more of it in future contests. Away we go!

Enter as many times as you like. Before/after shots are not required, but it may improve your chances at winning because they're more useful than single "after" shots.

Maggie ReMasked and set in an Irish scene. She was wet from swimming in a creek in a local park so I found a shot I took in Ireland of a river and blurred it for a shallow depth of field to allow the masking to stand out.

I certainly don't want to influence the judges, but ReMask 2 is extremely fast, accurate and intuitive. And the frosting on the cake is that the learning curve is more like a straight line. Another home run for Topaz Labs.

Please forgive me, but what is a cool or desaturated scene!

Socrates: Let's be friends and share the booty, assuming, of course, that either one of us is graciously bestowed a high honor in this contest.
