Default Detail V2 - Oversaturation / Color Management Issue - "Woodpecker Test"

I'm also seeing the oversaturation / color management issue others have mentioned.

Here is a screen grab showing an 8-bit flattened image in CS4 side by side with Detail V2 with all sliders reset:

There is definitely a color mismatch, as you can see from the saturation in Woody's cap and nape. The Detail version is even more vivid to the eye than the screen grab shows.

My system had a fresh Spyder2Pro display profiling and generally I get good correlation between screen and print.

    Something's up.

Maybe Detail2 doesn't like the Spyder-generated monitor profiles? (just a thought).

Interesting thought Sankos. However the color shift between having the monitor profile loaded or not is very subtle. It corrects a slight warm cast. What I'm seeing in Detail is a strong "psuedo" saturation effect without color shift. For example, comparing the above two images, the white feathers remain white whereas the red feathers on the head, breast, and belly are intensified.

I use a Spyder3 with profiles generated by ColorEyes Display Pro, to avoid problems it is simple matrix based V2, not LUT V4 and got problems too.

I also have v2 profiles. It looks like the new Adjust 4 shows the same colour management problem on my system too (but only in PSE; PSP works fine...).

I am also getting the same colour management issues in Adjust 4 as in Detail 2. From Photoshop, the reds in the plugin are oversaturated. I can work with PSP but note that PSP is flawed in that it sends no colour profile information to the plugin so generally gets the colours wrong. I think it looks ok if your colour working space is similar to the gamut of your monitor (but by coincidence!)

I have the same problem with adjust 4 and photoshop cs3. That oversaturation is even worse with large gamut monitor. It is frankly just impossible to adjust any photos with that. No problem with adjust3, keep using that and wait for update.

Same issue here, Detail 2, Adjust 4, Photoshop CS3 and a monitor close to Adobe RGB gamut. Preview oversaturated looks messed up.

"It is frankly just impossible to adjust any photos with that." - Totally agree.

Being new to Topaz software I have no sense of how responsive they are to these sorts of bugs - can anyone else give me an idea?

I put in the updates. Tried Detail2 first.....got the little sign that I was using a Topaz plugin...etc. That's it. Period. Can't close it out, can't go anywhere, can't even close down PSE. Will have to do the dreaded "button" to shut down the pc and start over.

Please tell me this won't happen with adjust also!
