I am using Vista and an Epson Stylus PHOTO R800 printer, as I say, perhaps there is a way of printing without the black background.

Mike, you didn't mention your OS but Macs using Safari under Leopard can drop out the background via a checkbox in the Print dialog – at least when saving to PDF (which you can then print normally). Printing directly without the background may be controlled by your particular printer's driver.

Actually it was originally meant to be posted as a visual web tutorial - thus the black background, but I didn't even think of that when I told Eric to go ahead and post it on the forum. I will definitely make sure that the next ones are more printer friendly and numbered.

A second point, and I may have done something wrong, but when I printed the tutorial it came out with a black background, not very environmentally friendly. I realise that your website is in this format but I would have thought that it would be better to print the .pdf file with a white background. Also would it be better if the printed pages where numbered.

I like the .pdf format, I can just save it (in a folder for this type of thing) and can refer back to it whenever. Never thought about printing it, would lose the paper for sure!

I'm with you. Whenever I get an important paper receipt, I scan it and save a pdf on my hard drive.

good tutorial. I have printed for reference for next time. But I also prefer video. Both are good though. I also agree Macs can do everything, LOL
