1. Installation

Due to host program requirements, Topaz Enhance™ must be installed in the specified directory.  You must select the correct directory in your next installation screen as described below. Fail to do so may cause Topaz Enhance not working properly.

For After Effects 6.x and 7.x, it must be installed to:

   <After Effects Installation Dir>/Support Files/Plug-ins/

For After Premiere Pro 2.x, it must be installed to:

   <After Premiere Installation Dir>/Plug-ins/en_US/AEFilters/

For After Premiere Pro 1.x, it must be installed to:

   <After Premiere Installation Dir>/Plug-ins/

For Eyeon Digital Fusion, it must be installed to:

   <DigitalFusion Installtion Dir>/AEPlugIns/

If you have more than one host program to use Topaz Enhance™, you only need to copy the “topazenhance” directory inside the installation directory to the proper directories described above for each host program after initial installation.

2. Compatibility

Topaz Enhance is a set of video enhancement plug-ins (Windows only). It has been tested to be compatible with:

·         Adobe After Effects 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x

·         Adobe Premiere Pro 1.x and 2.x

·         Eyeon Digital Fusion 4.x

Since different host programs have sometimes quite different behaviors, you should read the related sections in the document very carefully.  This is especially important for Adobe Premiere Pro users. For example, you must set the preview window zoom at 100% to get the correct preview for some filters.

3. System Requirements

Some filters in Topaz Enhance™ are very computation-intensive. Even through the software can run on all Intel and AMD processors, it is optimized to perform best on processors with SSE/SSE2 extension, e.g., Pentium 4. Even so, it is recommended that you have at lease 2.0GHz CPU to have acceptable performance.

4. Changes from V2.1

Here are the major changed introduced in Topaz Enhance V2.2

·         Fixed Premiere Pro 1.x and 2.x incompatibility issue.  Now all filters can be used with all the version of Adobe Premiere Pro.

·         Added a new combo filter, “Enlarge*”, which is special designed to simplify the task of SD to HD conversion.

·         Some filters support multiple-CPU rendering.

·         Other minor bugs.
