Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I find the program?
Topaz DeJPEG is a plugin for Photoshop or other compatible software. You can find its functionality in the "plugins" menu on the host program. It is not a standalone application and can't run by itself, so there's no executable file included in Topaz DeJPEG. If you don't have Photoshop, other software such as Paintshop and PhotoImpact can also be used. Freeware such as Irfanview and GIMP also work well. Refer to the release notes for proper installation of Topaz DeJPEG and other details.

How To Batch Enhance Multiple Images?
Topaz Vivacity/DeJPEG supports Photoshop actions. You need to create an action first:
- open an image,
- open the "Actions" panel (Alt-F9)
- click the "Create new action" icon at the bottom of the action panel
- click the "Start recording" icon,
- apply appropriate filters. For example, say I use a high ISO for indoor shooting without flash. The pictures will have substantial iso noise. Here is what I would do:
- Use Topaz DeNoise/EQ -> reduce noise
- Apply "Adjustment | Auto Contrast" -> better contrast
- Apply "Adjustment | Auto color" -> better color
- Menu: "File | Save as..." to save the result. This is very important. Without this step, a dialog box may pop up asking you to set JPEG quality for every picture.
- Click the icon to stop recording.
Now you can use this action to batch process and enhance all your images:
- Menu "File | Automate | Batch ..." to access the Batch dialog.
- In the "Play" area, select the action you have just created.
- Make sure to check "Override Action Save As Commands" checkbox!
- Fill other options and click OK.
