Topaz Enhance - Professional Video Quality Enhancement Suite
![]() |
Topaz Enhance is a powerful After Effects and Final Cut Pro plug-in suite used for high-end video enhancement and quality improvement. It can uniquely and effectively increase the actual resolution of videos with unprecedented results. ![]() ![]() |
Topaz Enhance uses "super-resolution" video enhancement technology. This technology permits actual - not interpolated - resolution increase and detail recovery in videos by synthesizing video information from multiple adjacent frames to improve a selected frame. More on super-resolution technology...
Here is a quick look at Topaz Enhance in action:

Enhance low-resolution videos to SD. Even YouTube-quality clips become a lot more usable after processing with Topaz Enhance. |
| Upconvert SD to HD with unprecedented quality. Super-resolution technology makes other upconversion methods obselete, as demonstrated here. |

Top-of-the-line deinterlacing. An advanced motion-compensated deinterlacing method results in high-resolution progressive videos with few artifacts. Double the frame rate of interlaced footage, create a smoother 24p film look, and make super-smooth slow-mo effects. |

Use Topaz Enhance's video enhancement features to:
- Double the frame rate of interlaced videos.
- Increase video resolution, resulting in high-quality video upconversion. The super-resolution upconversion method explores information from many frames and is much more effective than any other known approach.
- Convert Formats with a crisp, clean, and clear result.
- Reduce compression artifacts caused by codecs like Motion JPEG, miniDV, MPEG etc.
- Enhance edges and details without noise amplification or edge halos .
- Fix color bleeding caused by color sub-sampling or analog formats.
- Create various special effects.
The amazing capabilities of Topaz Enhance come from Topaz Labs' breakthroughs in video enhancement technology. A unique super-resolution based algorithm truly increases SD video to near HD resolution with clarity and details. The algorithm also provides superb quality for de-interlacing. Based on a per-pixel motion-compensated approach, the noise filter not only reduces noise but also unravels details obscured by noise. The edge enhancing filter creates crisp edges without overshooting and noise amplification.

Academic Research
Harvard University professor Peter J. Lu used Topaz Enhance to dramatically improve the quality of his video on a reconstructed Chinese precision compound machine. In his words:
I wanted to get rid of the fringes [in the video], so I downloaded Topaz Enhance, and did the de-interlace, and de-noise/enhance, plus an 80A photo filter and a last edge sharpen with color bleed reduction. The result is... brilliant. Simply brilliant. I can't believe how easy it was, or how effective."
Here is a sample comparing the video before and after it was processed by Topaz Enhance (19 MB):
