Topaz Labs LLC, a privately owned company in Dallas, Texas, focuses on developing advanced video and image enhancement technology. With today's widespread use of digital still cameras, digital video cameras, and HDTV, the need for high-quality digital images and videos has greatly increased. Topaz Labs' mission is to bring practical state-of-the-art image and video enhancement technology to both professionals and consumers.
Topaz Labs LLC was founded in 2005 by Dr. Feng (Albert) Yang, a veteran entrepreneur and an expert in video and signal processing. Prior to founding Topaz Labs, he was the co-founder and CTO of a Silicon Valley semiconductor company, Fortemedia Inc, for five years. He was instrumental for the company to first develop and now dominate small array microphone market for voice communication. Between 1997 and 2000 he was in the founding team and CTO of Techwell Inc, a leading semiconductor company in video processing. The company successfully went IPO (TWLL Nasdaq) in 2006. Dr Yang holds several patents and patent pendings. He received his Ph.D degree in Systems Design Engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada.
