3. Starting Started

Topaz Moment, Production Edition, has two applications.  Topaz Moment is an enhanced version of Topaz Moment with command line support for batch capture.  TM Batch is an application that can be used to setup jobs to do batch captures of many videos.

To capture stills from a single video, open Topaz Moment.  The User’s Guide provides more detailed information.

To batch capture stills from multiple videos, open TM Batch.  Its usage should be obvious.  Click button “Help”  for more information.

4. How To Register?

Use “Start->All Programs->Topaz Moment PE->Enter License Key…” to open registration program. Click “Buy Now” button to purchase.  An email with a license key will be send to you after purchase. Click “Enter Key” button to enter the license key.

5. Capture QuickTime video

If you get an error opening a QuickTime movie (.mov or .qt), you need to download and install a QuickTime player from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download

Either the free player or Pro version enables Topaz Moment to play and capture images from these type of videos.

6. Capture RealMedia video

If you get an error opening a Real Media video (.rm), you need to download and install a Real Player from http://www.real.com/player/

Either the free player or the advance version enables Topaz Moment to play and capture images from these type of videos.

7. Video Playback Problems and Solution

If you cannot see video, or the video is not displayed properly, you need to try different setting for “Playback Output”:

1.  Invoke the setting dialog by menu: [View -> Options…],

2.  In the left column, click “Output” under “Playback”,

3.  Experiment between “VMR7” and “VMR9”, “Use regular offscreen plain surfaces” and “Use texture surfaces”.

4.  After select an alternative setting, exit Topaz Moment first and start it again.

If you did not install the latest DirectX, we highly recommend that you do so from Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx

8.  Capturing DVD Frame

You can use menu "open DVD" to play the video and capture stills normally. However, the step back button is not working and the captured frame is NOT the frame you paused at.

If you need to step back and capture the exact frame you pause on, use menu "File|Open file…" instead. Select the DVD drive\Video_TS directory. In there are files such as "VTS_01_xxx.VOB". Each .VOB file is usually a chapter of the DVD movie. Select a .VOB file to open. Now you can step back and forth. When you capture the frame, there will be no shutter lag.
